About Montgomery Little Bears

A unique feature of our Preschool Program is our rotating classrooms. Each class will rotate with their homeroom teacher to a classroom that focuses on a specific subject. The Curriculum Domains for the Preschool Program include:

• Cognitive Skills, such as spatial awareness, pattern recognition, color and shape recognition and problem solving skills. 
• Language Skills (Letter Land Classroom), which focuses on phonetic awareness, upper and lowercase letter recognition, pre-writing skills and introduction to letter building/writing.
• S.T.E.M. (STEM Lab), which explores Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. 
• Art and Life Skills (Art Classroom), which focuses on process-based art and expressive movement. The children will explore multiple mediums and loose parts play. We also integrate life skills into the curriculum, such brushing teeth, tying shoes, folding laundry, etc.
• Dramatic Play (Small World Classroom), which allows opportunities for children to build relationships with their peers and explore imaginative play.
• Large Motor Movement, which acts as an outlet for expressive movement and full body exercise.

Our Preschool 1 class begins preparation for Kindergarten readiness while continuing our styles and ideals. We continue our child-led, messy play techniques with a higher focus of academic categories. We strive to create an environment that fosters curiosity, confidence and independence.

Our Preschool 2 class dives deeper into our Social Emotional learning and allows opportunities to practice setting boundaries or aiding peers. We also begin assessments to provide individualized instruction in preparation for Pre-K.
